FLINTSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL SELECTS LOGICALIS FOR FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT

, Nov 13, 2013

Logicalis, the international IT solutions, managed services and cloud provider, has won a place on a large ICT framework for the Welsh public sector. Logicalis is one of only two service providers selected for the framework agreement, created by Flintshire County Council in a shared collaborative procurement partnership with both Denbighshire County Council and Wrexham County Borough Council.

The agreement, for the design, procurement, installation, maintenance and support of network infrastructures, will allow Welsh public sector organisations to gain access to services quickly, rather than undertake a potentially longer OJEU procurement process.

In addition to Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham County Councils, the procurement partnership will also be open to other organisations in the region, representing the latest step towards greater efficiency and collaboration among the Welsh public sector.

Mark Starkey, Managing Director, Logicalis UK, comments; “As a strategic partner to Welsh public sector organisations and provider of the PSBA (Public Sector Broadband Aggregation) network, it’s great to see our business in the region gather yet more momentum. Our experience in consulting, designing and supporting business environments in Wales is enabling us to help the Welsh Government realise its goal of creating a true digital nation.”

Chris Guest, Head of ICT & Customer Services at Flintshire County Council, said: “We’ve put together this framework to ensure that we are able to buy networking services from suitably qualified companies whilst ensuring best value to the organisation. In the spirit of collaboration we have ensured that this Framework is available to a large number of other organisations in Wales. Flintshire have worked with both of the successful suppliers previously and I am confident that they can both deliver the range and quality of services we expect from key ICT providers."

Logicalis is one of two suppliers selected to be on the Framework, the other is Intrinsic Technology.
